3 on 3 League

The best way to learn the game is through 3 on 3. With less players on the floor there will be more touches for each player and all players are involved.  When playing 5 on 5 some players rarely touch the ball, are not involved and lose interest in playing the game.

Our league runs for 5 consecutive Sunday nights from 6-7:15pm

Players can come with friends and make your own team or come alone and be placed on a team.

Here is how we run our league:

  • Each basketball will have a coach. Two teams at a basket. The coach will periodically stop the game to teach.

  • There is an emphasis placed on learning how to play the game. Key concepts that are stressed include:

    • Facing the basketball upon receiving the ball. Seeing what your options are before dribbling

    • Less dribbling and more passing and cutting

    • SPACING---stressed every week.

    • Less individual play and more team play

    • Passing under pressure

    • SPORTSMANSHIP

  • Beginning each night, a new skill is taught. Players will practice that skill then play 3 on 3 the rest of the time. Skills taught include:

    • Give and Go

    • Pass and screen away

    • Passing while under pressure

    • V-Cut on wing to get open

    • Back door cut
